Funny

How did motorists rock-out before the invention of the 8-track player? With the Highway Hi-Fi Phonograph! This image been hiding on my hard drive for years. Thought you’d get a kick outta it.

I have one laying around in my attic. It is different from the picture as it plays 45s. It plays them upside down. the needle arm is counterbalanced and uses a light spring for tracking. The whole turntable is hanging from shock absorbers. If memory serves it held 14 records and dropped them as they finished playing.

I remember one of these in a Lincoln Mark II. Looked the same. I think it was a Muntz.

If you have one laying around in your attic, I suggest you get it out and auction it on e-bay. That thing is &bound* to be worth a pile of cash to a fanatical restorer/collector.
