Joy,
You are expecting too much from the bike to merge at 60-65mph, that would be a tad scary IMHO and the bike would be pretty well flat out. For some reason, 40mph 'felt' really fast on the bike, don't ask me why. Mnaybe the wind noise in the helmet is right up there too.

Steve, I just hired 1 of these scooters here in Phuket and was very impressed. My only criticism is of the seat - I am 5'10" and I have to say it started to feel cramped in the lower back after a while. I am not the first to comment on the PCX being short of legroom. So, you being over 6ft will more than likely find it being more 'squashed' for your lower body.
It is all to do with the seat design, if you take a look at it, there is a wedge which separates the main from pillion rider. That is the culprit, as well as the downwaud scoop and it isn't adjustable from what I could see.
Cheers

Agreed. If the PCX was a fuel-injected 300cc I'd be trading my Silver Wing in on it.

We have 55 mph speed limit here in NY on the highway, of course most people drive 60-65. Will I be able to merge onto highway ramps and keep up with traffic comfortbaly at 60-65 or will it be pushing the engine to much? Thanks

had a 125, went smallest I could fit on...it bogged down on hills (was a vino 125)...I don't care about impressing anybody or power (but traded it in for motorcycle anyway)...couldn't go fast enough on main roads so had to put in back of truck I had at the time to take to dealer for maintenance/servicing.

now I would like to get a new scooter, don't feel like paying 4500 for honda 150 but WOULD pay a few hundred more for a 300 and have more storage, able to take passenger, etc...

if I get another 125, have to be fuel injected..waiting for mpg on the new 2011 piaggio bv 125...

also don't have any close dealer for piaggio, sym, kymco...so needs to be powerful enough for me to safely go on some main roads (not hwy) in order to take back to dealer for regular servicing etc...even if I am only using locally....

piaggio has hys hybrid 300; why can't other manufacturers have similar options on regular looking scooters with 140 or so mpg????

You can get an official Honda 26 litre top box. Ive got one on mine. Ive had mine for a week now and I love it! WOuld be nice if it had just a tiny bit of extra power because I am flat out doing about 65 on the clock. It would be nice to cruise at 60. Still if it did 75 I would be saying it would be nice if it did 90 so it was relaxed on the motorway!

I looked at this cutie at the local dealer and almost certain I will move forward with the purchase. One thing that I would like to know is, does anyone have an idea what type of storage box would fit the back of this scooter. I would like the option of more storage. Thanks
